Collection: Cast in Bronze, Drawn With Mud

These paintings flatten bronze sculpture back into two dimensions, placing it in dialogue with traditional Native American drawings and petroglyphs — a meta-narrative tracing how art has evolved across cultures while honoring the deep roots of Indigenous mark-making. Two histories meet on the canvas: one drawn with mud and earth, the other cast in bronze.
The patina on the bronze carries its own symbolism. It speaks to the passage of time and the risk of fading history, but also to resilience — as metal weathers, its blue-green surface forms a protective barrier against further corrosion, preserving what lies beneath. Like the petroglyphs that have endured for centuries on rock faces across the Southwest, the patina shields the past while keeping it visible to the present.
